President Barak Obama visits Africa, snubs Nigeria
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

It’s pretty good for Nigeria to know when she's snubbed, that evinces her self-consciousness. It’s also quite human to express our feelings when we feel hurt. But I think it’s a bit puerile to brood over such phenomena. It’s even worse if we react to them by pointing accusing fingers against people and events. Obviously, faced with all these trying situations neatly x-rayed above, we cannot fold our arms. But rather than fix blames and prophesy doom on ourselves, we should encourage one another to contribute positively in fixing our problems. We shouldn't constitute ourselves into enemies of hope, or even allow our hope as a people to be crippled by other people’s seemingly unsuitable attitude towards us. As a matter of fact, the Obama phenomenon is challenging us to put our house in order or lose our worth in the international arena.

I disagree with the views of some Africans that President Obama is snubbing Nigeria. Please do not despair about US President not visiting Nigeria. This is his first year and give him a chance.

Obama is not snubbing Nigeria rather, Nigeria is snubbing itself out of the position of African Greatest Nation.
